Boyd Cycling co-owners Boyd and Nicole Johnson, a husband-and-wife team, met through professional road racing and started their premium-quality handcrafted bicycle wheel business in 2009. Always at the forefront of wheel innovation, in 2022 they onshored all alloy rim production to Greenville, SC from Taiwan. In 2024 they purchased a German Carbon Bicycle Rim factory and relocated from Munich to Landrum. They have created and introduced very high tech braided carbon fiber rims. They are the only one in the world who produces both alloy and carbon fiber rims and continue to develop aerodynamic road, mountain bike and gravel models.
